Lovesongs in Early March

Your love has a faint foreign accent,
like a song by Bic Runga -
gentle armchair,
lilted star,
sweet and high -
impossible swing.

The machinery of flesh spins
caves and tunnels full of sand
where we bury our heads.

Your hair flows over me
like a dark road through the night.
Lead on until morning
as the gradual day brings us home,
bound by gravity to the blue axminster,

its woolly daisies,
love me,
love me not,
shedding petals.

I absolutely LOVE Bic Runga, her voice is like water through the canyons of the mind, soft and soothing and slowly erroding my brain *grins*

Seriously though folks, this is a beautiful poem, just so superbly crafted as always.

hey thanks. yeah, I love Bic Runga's voice. I was listening to her as I wrote this and I think it's as much a love song to her as anything. She's certainly in the mix there.

there's a line in one of her songs, 'never be afraid of change'
the refrain has been running around in my head for weeks. Advice I'm trying hard to heed.

Obviously change is coming

Go with it

fighting the tide of change
just leaves you drowning
in the past kid

oh dear! I'm sorry you had a bad experience. They're not supposed to tell you really bad stuff. Besides, it's always dependent on interpretation, and predictions for the future are always subject to an individual person's choice of action.

No, I don't get regular readings, I do my own. I try not to sometimes, but really I'm a helpless addict, lol. I do try not to take them too seriously. Usually it's just a bit of fun, though my cards of late have been a bit serious for my liking. (I keep re-doing them in the hopes that they'll say something contradictory and I can laugh and say 'see! what a load of old cobblers!' but it doesn't seem to matter how much I shuffle the deck, I feep getting the same cards turn up )
