Mouse Party (from the McCahon drawing below)

Mouse Party
(McCahon series)

The family mouse tree
is laced like embroidery.

A mouse for you and one for me,
a small rodent bag to dip in your tea.

What a strange flavour that would be!
The mousies breed prolifically,

three of them blind
and one lost at sea.

One up the clock and another set free,
but this one without his tail.

My father used to recite a piece:

‘There’s a little mouse nibbling at the pantry door.
He’s been there nearly a month or more.
When he gets in, he’s sure gonna be sore.
There’s not a durn thing in there.’

The point of this being, not the verse,
But the five-year-old glee of my father’s rehearse.

my library has really old books i am going to go look up the genus... I think the genus is Rhodon but in the schools dictionary it said Usu maybe it is talking about two different roses... Who knows... Usu might be the wilder one... I go find genus and change it...

I like this Moon. Sooo much fun. My daughter would like the rhythm. She's nine, and discovering this sort of stuff!

How cool,

I think I will send my eyes to the sky

excellent! It's amazing what happens when you actually bother to send out submissions eh? *wink*

I might have something else in the pipeline for you too. Let you know in a bit.

Well, yes *rueful grin*, I am only just starting to do so again, actually, I sent some submissions to another one which said thankyou, we received your subs on one day, then sent me an email the next day saying they were not going to be online this year at all???

Very bizarre behaviour lol, I can only assume the quality of my poetry was so high, they felt their online Ezine was not up to scratch, and rather than embarrass themselves, they opted for implosion instead :)

I am in an stoundingly good mood today,
which means ultimately, I am dangerous to be around *Sparkling exploding eyes*

eeeeuuwww ... exploding eyeballs! Gross!

Of course their deciding not to be online this year at all must have been all about you. Nothing at all to do with them having lives or anything *falls about laughing*

I don't really know anything about her other than that I think she was a warrior? A queen of the Britains maybe? And that she led her army to victory?

I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

Sounds very interesting i can't wait to check it out. I know it takes lots of Money$$$$ and time (tick-tock, tick-tock) but i either want to get self-published or published. I might go check out ezine..

Greetings Sam *hugs*

You got it kid, you know her basics, and she almost changed history,
took it to Rome and nearly took them out in Britian.Im trying for another of my historical poetic combo's , like I did with the dude with the harp, thingo, you know the one, went to save his girl from the underworld, ummm....lol...his name was/is ,you first told me about him... how tragic, I had to look it up lol, Orpheus, yeah, along the lines of that, I enjoyed that one a lot so I thought I'd try it again *smile*.

Kora, just google the name, lots of sites come up, or I can send u a link with basic info if your interested.
She was quite something.
